Congratulations to the citizens of West Virginia. The cell phone law signed by Governor Tomblin will save lives and make the citizens of West Virginia safer. The law makes it a primary offense to text while driving and a secondary offense to talk on a cellphone without a hands-free device.

Governor Tomblin also signed a pledge that all West Virginia drivers can sign. The pledge states as follows:

I pledge to put my safety and the safety of others first.

I will not text while I am driving b/c it can wait.

I will always use a hands-free cellphone while driving because I am a responsible driver.

I will do my part in keeping our roadways safe.
