3 cheers for our local mayor. Mayor Randy Daniel signed the proclamation proclaiming April Distracted Driving Awareness Month for the City of Athens, Texas. I'm proud to live in a town where the Mayor is so concerned about the safety of our residents and those passing through. Distracted Driving is a topic that can't be overstressed or overstated. In today's driving world, cell phone use and texting and driving is so interwoven with transportation that we must continually educate ourselves on the dangers of engaging in these activities and driving.

Lives will be saved because of the efforts of the Mayor in helping to spread the word of the dangers associated with Distracted Driving.
