When it comes to Driving and Using a Cellphone its Monkey See Monkey Do!

Comments Off

There is a famous old saying, "Do as I say,not as I do." When it comes to using a cell phone and driving, this is exactly the case. If you see your parents, teachers, school police, local police or friends driving through town using their cell phone, what does this tell a teenager who has been told not to use their cell phone and drive? When I ask this question to teenagers all throughout East Texas the answer is always the same "It's O.K." Yes, when teenagers see you doing something that you have told them is not O.K., they get it. What you said doesn't mean anything. It applies to distracted driving as well.

None of us are perfect. The problem with this mistake is that you only have to make it once to cause serious injuries or death to someone that you love or someone that you don't know. This isn't try it once and see if you like it. This is try it once, nothing happens, so you become confident nothing will ever happen – and then, it does.

It is absolutely a Monkey See, Monkey Do World. Please put down your cell phone when you are driving. Please don't text and use your cell phone. We all want you to arrive alive wherever your travels take you.

Drive Safe – X THA TXT
